c3PR Principal Mar Junge Named Mentorship Chair of PRSA Silicon Valley Chapter

Sunnyvale, Calif. – November 04, 2011 – c3PR Principal Mar Junge has been appointed chairperson of the Mentorship Committee of the Silicon Valley Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). In her new position, she will interface with the San Jose State University Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) Pearce Davies Alpha Chapter, to help PR students find mentors in the industry and transition into the profession upon graduation. Ms. Junge is scheduled to meet with SJSU PRSSA Chapter President Robb Silverstein and other PRSSA board members at the November 4, 2011 PRSA-SV board meeting.

“Mar’s enthusiasm, leadership, and can-do spirit will be an outstanding shot in the arm for our members and new professionals as she organizes and facilitates mentor relationships, job site visits, and counseling for students interested in PR careers,” said David Vossbrink, president of Public Relations Society of America, Silicon Valley Chapter.

“As our chapter’s new mentorship chair, she will help young professionals and students find their way to the paths of success in our profession,”

Ms. Junge was a PRSA-Silicon Valley board member from 1990 until 2006 before taking a hiatus to concentrate on building c3PR, the PR agency she founded in 2002. While on the board, she organized many public relations professional development workshops that raised the bar for members’ ability to be more effective, in addition to coordinating marketing and communications functions.

“When I was a student at San Jose State, I thought all I would need to land a good job after graduation was my PR degree. I was wrong. It took me five years to break into the industry,” said Ms. Junge. “Now it’s time for me to give back. My goal is to help every graduating senior find their dream job by facilitating introductions to PR agency and corporate professionals, and ensure that all PRSSA members understand the importance of networking.”
